Edge Of The Universe
Edge Of The Universe is the virtual electronic chill rock 'band' from Northern California. Armed with guitars, synth software, and an array of equipment, EOTU composes layered instrumentals that might best be described as melodic sci-fi.
EOTU's music takes inspiration from many influences, including: Simple Minds, Muse, Tycho, Solar Fields, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Asura, Kaminanda, Pink Floyd, Hooverphonic, Phutureprimitive, Mutemath, Steve Vai, Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cult, Extreme, Soundgarden, Beastie Boys, Herbie Hancock, Jesus Jones, Thievery Corporation, U2, Hans Zimmer, The Cure, Ken Andrews (Failure, On, Year of the Rabbit), Zero Cult, Coldplay, The Fixx, Lenny Kravitz, Peter Gabriel, J. Geils Band, Genesis, Fishbone, Rush, Nine Inch Nails, The Beatles, and the sounds of jazz, cinematic scores, funk, and blues. It was Hooverphonic that truly brought EOTU to the world of electronic music, with their album A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular.
The debut album Redshift was released in 2019, and received local airplay (KPCA), internet radio (SomaFM, Electrodrome on WIGWAM) as well as the attention of music podcasters (Vladimir Bresnix).
So far in 2020, EOTU has released the EP String Theory, and 3 singles: To The Wild, Sona Metro, and Nominal Burn. The song Dragonfly Hill will be released on Sept 18, 2020.
