Hell’s Oasis first began as a new project for husband-wife musical duo, Alexis and Ginger Polozoff. The two first met and began making music together in the “Live Music Capital of the World,” Austin, Texas, before returning to Alexis’ hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa. The combination of Alexis, an industry veteran and multi-instrumentalist, and Ginger, a lifelong vocalist who studied with Austin’s famed Marcy Lynne, led to a new progressive rock sound fused with the best parts of funk, trip-hop, singer-songwriter, and folk styles.
Hell’s Oasis later welcomed saxophonist John Rheaume to further round out their sound. Rheaume is a classically trained musician and music educator with experience in a wide variety of disciplines including jazz, rock, pop, and classical. John has performed with numerous ensembles throughout the Boston area including Uptown Celebration, S.O.S. Big Band, Michael Gruen Quartet, Paul Combs Pocket Big Band, The New Lows, The Jumblies, and the Nashua Symphony.
Most recently, Pittsburgh-based multi-instrumentalist, Abhishek Ravi, joined the group on bass.. Born and raised in Bangalore -- the heavy metal capital of India --Abhi picked up his first guitar in his teens before moving to the U.S. to pursue a Masters Degree in Entertainment Technology. It was during college that he first began to break into the music scene, performing with a number of groups in genres ranging from Progressive Rock to Death Metal. Continuously learning, Abhi now plays guitar and bass, as well as dabbles in percussion.
