Hatchatorium is the stage name for Douglas B. Bond, Jr., an internationally acclaimed & award winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer & 3 time MUSA/AMS inductee into COPAM. Over his 30+ year musical career he has released 8 full-length albums, 2 EPs, & over 80 singles (not all as Hatchatorium). He has also provided backing vocals & instrumentation for a variety of Billboard charting songs/artists, spanning multiple genres, & has collaborated with numerous indie musicians, vocalists & producers. He has an over 4 octave vocal range & wrote his first complete song at the age of 8 on the guitar he taught himself to play on (an old, beaten up Gibson dreadnaught), & recorded it by bouncing tracks using his & his younger brother's cassette tape recorders. Years later he rerecorded that same song, called "Black & White" which was about racial inequality & injustice, "virtually note for note" in a professional studio, & it would become his 1st MUSA/AMS song curated & inducted into COPAM. He donates 100% of his online streaming proceeds & publishing royalties to charity, including St. Jude's Research Hospital for Children & The American Cancer Society (he, himself, has a form of leukemia called Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia). He was born & raised in Georgia & is currently based in Atlanta, Georgia, but has lived in many different places around the United States & world. He is a member of several professional performing arts & recording organizations, including ASCAP & ISSA, has done some acting (both onstage & VO work), & owns & runs several businesses, including his own music label & production company. He is also a graphic artist, poet, author, father & grandfather!
