Weimar
Weimar (pronounced Vy-marr) is an Art Rock band whose sound incorporates an eclectic range of styles, from post-punk and indie rock to cabaret, chanson, prog rock, avant-garde jazz and more. They have been noted in the media for the unpredictability of their sound and their defiance of easy categorization, drawing comparisons to artists ranging from Magazine and The Velvet Underground to The Divine Comedy and Momus. Following their debut on the live circuit in 2017, Weimar were named by Louder Than War Magazine as one of 2019's 50 Artists to Watch. That year saw the release of their first two singles, accompanied by successful launch gigs in their native Manchester and leading to a support slot for Goth legends Skeletal Family in 2020. In 2021 the band finally completed work on their debut album, titled "Dancing On A Volcano", which is set to be released in June 2022.
